2012 Canadian Code of Advertising Standards Revisions Now Available
Following member and public consultation, ASC’s Board of Directors recently approved
several minor amendments to the Canadian Code of Advertising Standards (Code). Details
of these changes were sent to members on January 24.
The 2012 Code is now available.
ASC’s 2011 Consumer Research
Last year, ASC commissioned the Gandalf Group to conduct research with Canadian and American adults to
understand consumer impressions of advertising and advertising standards. The surveys utilized similar
questionnaires to contrast opinion in the two countries, as well as an oversample in Quebec to identify
potential attitudinal differences between English and French Canadians.
ASC sent a copy of these important research findings to every member last November. These findings are
presented in the full research report, ASC 2011 Survey: Canadian Perspectives on Advertising.
